If you have ordered a floor plan from RoomSketcher's expert illustrators, it's easy to use the RoomSketcher App to edit your floor plans when you get them back. Make the changes you want to your projects, then re-generate the floor plans for free for up to 30 days after you place your order.

Follow these three steps to edit your floor plan:
Step 1: Open Your Project
Start by opening the project you want to edit in the RoomSketcher App:
- If you haven’t already, be sure to download the RoomSketcher App: Download the RoomSketcher App.
- Open the RoomSketcher App and make sure you are signed in.
You'll see a small man icon at the bottom. If it's red, it means you're not signed in. Just click on it to sign in to your RoomSketcher account.
- On the left, click Menu (yellow button in the top left) and then, under Project, click Open.
- Open the project you want to edit.
Step 2: Make Your Changes
We’ll walk you through some of the most common edits, but feel free to tweak whatever you need — using the RoomSketcher App, you can change just about anything.
- Change a Room Name

How Can I Change a Room Name?
It’s quick and easy to update room names in the RoomSketcher App, please follow these steps:
- Click on the red circle button in the top right corner, and change to Walls mode.
- Select the room where you want to change the name by clicking on it.
- On the right side, at the top, either select a room name from the list Select Zone Name or enter a new name in the Zone Name field.
How Do I Move or Delete a Wall?
Do you need to adjust your layout? With the following steps, you can move or remove walls to get your floor plan right:
- Click on the red circle button in the top right corner, and change to Walls mode.
- To move a wall, click and drag it into place.
- To delete a wall, select it by clicking on it, then click the trash can in the blue toolbar.
How Can I Change the Door Swing?
Want a door to open the other way? Changing the door swing in the RoomSketcher App takes just a few clicks:
- Click on the red circle button in the top right corner, and change to Windows etc. mode.
- Click on the door you want to change, and in the settings on the right side, click Flip Door. Keep clicking it until the door swings correctly.
How Can I Add a Window?
With only two steps, you can add a new window to your floor plan:
- Click on the red circle button in the top right corner, and change to Windows etc. mode.
- Open the Windows category and click and drag a window onto a wall.
How Can I Add Measurements?
You have several options for adding measurements in the RoomSketcher App. Below, we’ll show you the steps to automatically add them using the Measurements Wizard.
- Click on the red circle button in the top right corner, and change to Windows etc. mode.
- Open the category Symbols, Text & Lines, or Measurement Wizards (available for Pro and Team).
- Click and drag your preferred measurement tool to your floor plan.

How Can I Add Annotations?
You can add text annotations to your floor plan to clarify details, highlight features, or provide extra information. Here's how:
- Click on the red circle button in the top right corner, and change to Windows etc. mode.
- Open the category Symbols, Text & Lines.
- Click and drag the preferred item to your floor plan.

How Can I Add, Move, or Delete Furniture?
Easily add, reposition, or remove furniture in the RoomSketcher App to customize your floor plan exactly how you want. Follow these steps:
- Click on the red circle button in the top right corner, and change to Furniture mode.
- To delete an item, click to select it, then click on the red X.
- To move an item, click and drag it.
- To add an item, open one of the categories on the right or use the search to find the furniture you are looking for. Click and drag it onto the floor plan.
- To change the size of an item, click to select it, and then change its properties on the right hand side.

Step 3: Re-Generate and Print Your Floor Plan
Once you’ve made your edits, re-generate your floor plan to see all your changes applied. Follow these steps:
- Click Save
, and you are ready to re-generate your floor plans.
- Click Menu and select 2D Floor Plans or 3D Floor Plans.
- Click Generate for the level you just updated.

Important: To see if the floor plan is ready, click the link 2D/3D Floor Plan order in progress - Click here to check order. on the top of the screen.
- 2D Floor Plans re-generate in just seconds, while 3D Floor Plans can take up to an hour, depending on their complexity.
- Please note that the page doesn't refresh automatically; you have to click on the top of the screen.
- To download your floor plan, click Save to Disk.
- To print your floor plan, click Print.

You can edit your floor plan anytime with a RoomSketcher account. Regenerating 2D and 3D Floor Plans is free for 30 days after placing your order. After that:
- Pro or Team subscription – after 30 days: 2D Floor Plans are always free, 3D Floor Plans cost 1 Credit each.
- Free subscription – after 30 days: Buy 2D and 3D Floor Plans as in-app purchases.
