Welcome to RoomSketcher! This guide explains how RoomSketcher works and gets you to your first floor plan in minutes.

RoomSketcher is a floor plan and home visualization tool used by homeowners, real estate agents, interior designers, and property professionals. You can draw floor plans from scratch, convert existing blueprints, or order a professionally drawn plan — then visualize it in 2D and 3D.

How RoomSketcher Is Organized

RoomSketcher has two parts that work together:

  • Web Portal – your dashboard. Open it in your browser on any device to start and manage projects, upload blueprints, and place orders.
  • RoomSketcher App – your drawing tool. Download the app on your computer or tablet and create and edit your floor plans.

Think of it this way: the web portal is your starting point, the RoomSketcher app is where the work happens.

Step 2: Choose Your Creation Method

One question: do you already have a blueprint?

Yes – I have an existing plan or blueprint.

  • Want it done automatically? → Convert with AI: upload your file, and AI generates the floor plan.
  • Prefer to trace it yourself? → Draw from Scratch: import it as a background and draw on top.
  • Rather have us do it? → Order Floor Plans: send us your blueprint, and we will draw it for you.

No – I don't have an existing plan or blueprint.

  • Want to draw it yourself? → Draw from Scratch: Create your floor plan yourself in the RoomSketcher App.
  • Have an iPad Pro or iPhone 12 Pro or newer? → Capture Space: Use the FloorCapture App to capture the property with LiDAR and generate a plan automatically.

What Happens After You Choose?

Each method has its own next steps — here's what to expect in general:

  • AI Convert / FloorCapture / Order → Your floor plan is processed or delivered and saved to your web portal. From there, open the project and click Edit to start working on it in the RoomSketcher app.
  • Draw from Scratch / Trace Manually → Open the RoomSketcher app and start drawing. If you're tracing, you'll load your blueprint via Menu > Blueprint.

For step-by-step instructions, follow the guide for your method:

Convert with AI · Draw from Scratch · FloorCapture · Trace Manually · Order Floor Plans

When You're Ready to Visualize

Once your floor plan is drawn, you can:

  • Generate a 2D and 3D Floor Plan in the web portal, ready to export or share.
  • Use Styles in the web portal to customize your floor plans.
  • Open Live 3D in the web portal to walk through your space.
  • Generate 3D Photos or 360 Views inside the RoomSketcher app.
