Edit Your Floor Plan Order

If you have ordered a floor plan from our expert illustrators, it's easy to use the RoomSketcher App to edit your floor plans when you get them back. Make the changes you want to your projects, then re-generate the floor plans for free for up to 30 days after you place your order. 

You can watch this short video or follow the steps below.

 
Follow these three steps to edit your floor plan:

Step 1: Open Your Project

  1. If you haven’t already, be sure to download the RoomSketcher App: Download the RoomSketcher App.
  2. Open the RoomSketcher App and make sure you are signed in to your account. If the symbol is red, you are not. Click on it to sign in.

  3. On the left, click Menu (yellow button in the top left) and then, under Project, click Open.

  4. Open the project you want to edit.

Step 2: Make Your Changes

We’re highlighting some of the most common changes, but with the RoomSketcher App, you can edit just about anything.

Change a Room Name

  1. Click on the red circle button in the top right corner, and change to Walls mode.

  2. Select the room where you want to change the room name by clicking on it.
  3. On the right side, on the top, either select a room name from the list Select Zone Name or enter your own name in the Zone Name field.

Move or Delete a Wall

  1. Click on the red circle button in the top right corner, and change to Walls mode.
  2. To move a wall, click and drag it into place. 
  3. To delete a wall, select it by clicking on it, then click the trash can in the blue toolbar.

Change the Door Swing

  1. Click on the red circle button in the top right corner, and change to Windows etc. mode.
  2. Click on the door you want to change, and in the settings on the right side, click Flip Door. Keep clicking it until the door swings correctly.

Add a Window

  1. Click on the red circle button in the top right corner, and change to Windows etc. mode.
  2. Open the Windows category and click and drag a window onto a wall.

Add Measurements

  1. Click on the red circle button in the top right corner, and change to Windows etc. mode.
  2. Open the category Symbols, Text & Lines, or Measurement Wizards (available for Pro and Team). 
  3. Click and drag your preferred measurement tool to your floor plan.

Add Annotations

  1. Click on the red circle button in the top right corner, and change to Windows etc. mode.
  2. Open the category Symbols, Text & Lines.
  3. Click and drag the preferred item to your floor plan.

Add, Move, or Delete Furniture

  1. Click on the red circle button in the top right corner, and change to Furniture mode.
  2. To delete an item, click to select it, then click on the red X. 
  3. To move an item, click and drag it. 
  4. To add an item, open one of the categories on the right or use the search to find the furniture you are looking for. Click and drag it onto the floor plan.
  5. To change the size of an item, click to select it, and then change its properties on the right hand side.

Step 3: Re-Generate Your Floor Plan

  1. Click Save save_app.PNG and you are ready to re-generate your floor plans.
  2. Click Menu and select 2D Floor Plans or 3D Floor Plans

  3. Click Generate for the level you just updated.

  4. Important: To see if the floor plan is ready, click the link 2D/3D Floor Plan order in progress - Click here to check order. on the top of the screen.

    • 2D Floor Plans re-generate in just seconds while 3D Floor Plans can take up to an hour, depending on their complexity.
    • Please note that the page doesn't refresh automatically, you have to click on the top of the screen. 
  5. To download your floor plan, click Save to Disk
  6. To print your floor plan, click Print.
