What is Live 3D?

  • Updated

Live 3D is an interactive 3D walkthrough feature in the RoomSketcher App that lets you explore your floor-plan either from a bird’s-eye view (flyover) or at eye-level (camera mode). You can walk around, zoom, tilt, rotate, view rooms as if you were inside them, and see how materials and furniture come together.

Live 3D is included in Pro, Team, and a Premium Project Upgrade.

How Do I Navigate in Camera Mode?

  • Zoom: Use the buttons on the left, your mouse wheel, or on a tablet, pinch in or out.
  • Navigate: Move forward, backward, and turn. Use the buttons on the lower right, your keyboard arrow keys, or on a tablet, use touch.
  • Fine-tune Camera: Use the buttons on the top right. You can move the camera position up or down, and left or right.

Tip: Live 3D and the RoomSketcher Camera are synchronized

Live 3D’s Camera mode syncs with the RoomSketcher Camera — like looking through a live viewfinder. As you move in Live 3D, the camera follows, and the same happens in reverse.

This means when you find the perfect angle in Live 3D, the RoomSketcher Camera is already set to capture it. In the RoomSketcher App, just double-click to take your snapshot.

To preview the actual size of a snapshot:

  • In Live 3D, open the yellow menu, then click Snapshot Size (4:3).
  • This resizes the Live 3D window to match the snapshot size, so you can see the actual image before taking the shot.

The Snapshot Size feature is not available on tablets.
