Where Can I Generate My Floor Plans?
You can generate professional 2D and 3D Floor Plans from several convenient places in web portal. No matter where you prefer to work, the Generate Floor Plans button is always close at hand. Here’s where you can find it:
In the Project Overview
Use this option when you want to generate floor plans for the whole project or multiple levels.
- Sign in to web portal and open My Projects.
- Click on the project for which you want to generate floor plans.
- Click Generate
in the top-right corner.
- Click the drop-down menu under Floors and select the floors you want to generate.
- Click Generate.
In the Floor Plans Panel
- Sign in to web portal and open My Projects.
- Click on the project for which you want to generate floor plans.
- Each floor is shown in a little box. Click Floor Plans in this box, on the right-hand side.
- A new window opens, showing boxes for the 2D and 3D floor plan for that floor. If you haven't generated floor plans yet, these are empty.
-
You can simply click anywhere inside the box to generate that individual floor plan.
There is also a Generate button in the top-right corner of the window (next to the Edit and Download buttons). This works just like the one in the main project view and lets you generate 2D, 3D, or both floor plans, either for the current floor or all floors in your project.
How Can I Regenerate a Floor Plan?
Whenever you make changes to your project in the RoomSketcher App, you’ll need to regenerate your floor plans to update them. You can regenerate floor plans in the same way as you generate them.
Tip: In the Floor Details window, a blue checkmark means that your floor plan is up-to-date, and a red generate icon means that your floor plan is outdated and needs to be regenerated.
Floor Plan is up-to-date:
Floor Plan needs to be regenerated:
How Long Does It Take to Generate a Floor Plan?
- 2D Floor Plans generate in less than a minute.
- 3D Floor Plans may take from 15 minutes up to one hour to generate.
- The floor plan generates in the background, so you can go on with other work while your floor plan is created.
