AI Convert is currently in beta, and we’re continually improving it.
How Do I Use AI Convert?
To use AI Convert, upload your plan, set the scale, and start the AI conversion to get an editable floor plan. Once created, open the project in the RoomSketcher App to edit it. Below, we'll walk you through all the steps.
And the best part: Your first AI conversion is free!
Step 1: Upload Your Blueprint in AI Convert
The first step is to upload your blueprint. You can use any computer-created plans, e.g., architectural plans or old blueprints. Please note that hand-drawn plans are not possible (yet!).
- Sign in to your web portal from a computer, tablet, or phone.
- Click New Project and then Upload Plan.
- Select your file. You can upload JPG, PNG, or PDF formats.
If you have a multi-page PDF, you can select the page in the next window. - If the plan looks slightly crooked, click Straighten to let our AI Agent fix the alignment.
- Rotate if needed, and crop out any extra space by dragging the handles and clicking Crop.
- When it looks right, click Done.
Step 2: Scale the Blueprint
In this step, you tell AI how large your floor plan is. With the "Set Length" option, you set the length of one wall, and AI will be able to set the correct measurement scale:
- Drag the Scale Bar along a wall that you know the exact length of.
- Click Set Length. A new window opens where you set the length, i.e. you tell AI how long this wall should be.
- Enter the known measurement and click Done.
Tip: In the Set Length window, click the settings wheel in the top left corner to adjust your personal preferences. You can, for example, adjust the measurement units if needed (feet/inches, metric, or inches only).
Step 3: Start AI Convert
- Click Start AI Convert in the top right corner.
- Review the available settings, such as kitchen style, window types, and window top height.
- Click Convert to start the AI process.
Step 4: Preview the Converted Floor Plan
Once the preview appears, explore your results using:
- Blueprint to view the original
- Mix to compare before/after
- 2D to see the result which, once saved, will be editable in the RoomSketcher App.
Please also take a second to rate the conversion. Your feedback helps improve RoomSketcher’s AI tools.
Step 5: Save the Converted Floor Plan
- Click Save.
- Enter a Project Name and choose a floor name.
- Click Save again to store your new editable floor plan.
Note: Saving a converted floor plan costs 5 Credits. Don’t worry, you’re only charged if you decide to save it. If you don’t like the AI’s result, just cancel and it won’t cost you anything.
How Do I Add More Floors?
If your property has multiple floors:
- Click New Floor to add the next level.
- Repeat the steps for AI Convert if you’re uploading additional floor plans.
How Do I Edit the Converted Plan?
You can edit all projects that you created with AI Convert in the RoomSketcher App.
- Click Edit Floor and then Edit in App.
- If you haven't installed the RoomSketcher App yet, click Download RoomSketcher App. You download the RoomSketcher App on Mac, Windows PC, or tablets.
How Do I Download or Print the Finished Floor Plans?
Once you are done with editing your projects in the RoomSketcher App, you can generate professional 2D and 3D Floor Plans which you can download or print.
- In web portal, on your project, click Generate or Download in the top right corner.
- Choose your preferences and confirm with Generate or Download.
Once downloaded, you can print your floor plans as needed.
