When setting up your 2D Floor Plan style, Templates give you a quick and easy starting point. Instead of adjusting every color and material manually, you can pick a ready-made template and have a complete, professional look applied instantly — then customize it further to make it your own.

What Are 2D Floor Plan Templates?
Templates are ready-made 2D Floor Plan styles created by RoomSketcher. Each template defines a complete set of colors and materials for your floor plan. With nine templates to choose from, such as Soft Pastel Colors or Material Combination, you can quickly find a look that fits your needs.
Templates are located under Styles > Floor Plans > 2D Floor Plans > Templates in the RoomSketcher Web Portal.
How Do I Apply a 2D Floor Plan Template?
To apply the settings of one of the templates to your account, follow these steps:
- Sign in to your web portal at app.roomsketcher.com.
- In the left menu, click Styles.
- Under Floor Plans, go to 2D Floor Plans.
- Click Templates.
- A pop-up informs you about the Templates features, click View Templates to get to the templates.
Tip: You can toggle Don't show this again if you prefer to go straight to the template gallery in the future (it will also apply to 3D and Letterhead Templates). - Browse the available templates and click on one to apply it.
All colors and materials in your 2D Floor Plan settings will update instantly to match the selected template. Just make sure that you assign room types to your rooms and then re-generate your 2D Floor Plan.
Here's how you assign Room Types:
- Open a project in the RoomSketcher App and click Walls mode.
- Click on one of the rooms in your project.
- On the right, it's Properties appear. Click Room Type.
- Choose a Room Type from the list.
- Repeat for all rooms.
- Generate a 2D Floor Plan.
Can I Customize a 2D Floor Plan Template After Applying It?
Yes! Applying a template is just a starting point. After selecting a template, you can adjust any of the individual settings, such as colors, materials, or visible elements, to fine-tune the look to your liking.
