How Do I Generate 2D and 3D Floor Plans from the RoomSketcher App?

Once you have created a project in the RoomSketcher App, you are ready to generate high-quality 2D and 3D Floor Plans. "To generate" means creating the floor plan based on your drawing.

You can generate floor plans right from the RoomSketcher App, or from Web Portal (i.e. when you sign in from a browser).

Generate All Floor Plans

Users with a Pro or Team subscription can generate all of a project’s 2D and 3D Floor Plans at once. 

1. In the RoomSketcher App, once you have drawn a project, click Save.
2. Click Menu (yellow button at the top left) and then click Generate Floor Plans.
   
   
   
    
3. Choose if you want 2D Floor Plans and/or 3D Floor Plans. Then click Generate. 
   
   
   
    

When you choose to Generate All Floor Plans, only the floor plans that are new or have changed will be re-generated. If an existing floor plan has not changed, it will not be re-generated.

While a high-quality 2D Floor Plan can generate in less than a minute, a high-quality 3D Floor Plan may take up to one hour to generate, depending on the complexity of the floor plan. The floor plan generates in the background, so you can go on with other design work while your floor plan is created.  

Important! To check the status of the individual floor plans, go to the 2D Floor Plans and/or 3D Floor Plans page, please follow the steps of Generate Individual Floor Plans, Step 5 below. 

Download All Floor Plans

Once your floor plans are generated, you can download them.

1. Click Menu (yellow button at the top left).
2. Click Download Floor Plans.

Generate Individual Floor Plans

1. In the RoomSketcher App, once you have drawn a project, click Save.
2. Open the Menu (yellow button at the top left) and then click 2D Floor Plans or 3D Floor Plans.
   
   
   
    
3. The 2D Floor Plans or 3D Floor Plans page appears. 
   
   
   
   Depending on your subscription, you will see different options. If you have a Pro or Team subscription, you can generate floor plans using the Credits in your account and you will have the opportunity to preview floor plans first. If you have a Free subscription, you can purchase floor plans with in-app purchases. 
   Note:
   • Free subscribers receive floor plans that are 150 dpi.
   • Pro and Team subscribers receive print-quality floor plans that are 300 dpi.
4. Click Generate to render a floor plan.
5. Important! To check the status, click the blue Click here to check order link at the top of the screen. This screen will not update automatically.
   • 2D Floor Plans take just a few seconds.
   • 3D Floor Plans take around 15 minutes.
     
     
     
      
6. Once a floor plan is ready, you can click Save to Disk or Print.

How Much Does It Cost to Generate a Floor Plan?

The cost to generate a floor plan depends on your subscription type:

• Pro and Team subscriptions
  • 2D Floor Plans: Free to generate. You only need to spend 1 Credit to create the project. After that, all 2D Floor Plans for this project are free to generate.
  • 3D Floor Plans: Each 3D Floor Plan generation costs 1 Credit.
• Free subscription
  • You can purchase the generation of 2D and 3D Floor Plans as in-app purchases. Each floor plan generation costs USD 4.
  • If you upgrade a project to a Premium Project, all 2D Floor Plans for that project are free to generate.
