Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What types of blueprints can I submit to RoomSketcher?
RoomSketcher accepts the following blueprint formats when placing a floor plan order:
- Existing blueprints: These can be scanned copies or digital files.
-
Hand-drawn sketches: Neatly drawn on graph paper with clear room labels and multiple measurements.
What should I include in my blueprint?
To get the best results, make sure your blueprint includes the following:
- At least one measurement: This allows the RoomSketcher team to scale the floor plan accurately. If your blueprint is a hand-drawn sketch, we achieve the best results if you provide several measurements, ideally one per wall length.
- Clear room names: Label all rooms clearly using English, German, Norwegian, Swedish, or Danish.
- Correct proportions: The blueprint should reflect the true proportions of the space to ensure layout accuracy.
-
Furniture and fixture placement: Include markings for major furniture, kitchen appliances, bathroom fixtures, and built-ins, if you want to have them on your floor plan.
What file types and sizes can I upload?
- File formats supported: JPG, PNG, or PDF
- Max file size: 16 MB
- Max resolution: 15,000 x 15,000 pixels
-
For DWG/DWX files: Convert to PDF before uploading
Can I upload a multi-page PDF?
Please note that only one page can be uploaded per blueprint. All information must be included on a single page, meaning within the blueprint. Measurements or furnishing details or similar cannot be submitted on additional pages. Please draw everything directly into the blueprint.
What if I don't have a scanner?
If your blueprint is on paper, you can take a photo of it instead. Make sure:
- The photo is taken directly from above to avoid distortion
- The image is clear and well-lit
- Only one level is shown per image
How many blueprints should I upload?
You must upload exactly one blueprint for each floor/level of your project.
- Each blueprint must contain all the necessary details (such as measurements and layout).
- It is not possible to upload additional documents; everything must be visible within the blueprint itself.
- After uploading, double-check that each file thumbnail matches the correct level.
