Want to measure the distance between furniture and other items? You can use the Tape Measure to check distances as you work, and you can display the distance between items on 2D Floor Plans.
Watch the video or follow the steps below.
Your options for measuring the distance between two items:
The Tape Measure
Use the Tape Measure to check distances as you go.
To open the Tape Measure
- Click the yellow Menu and then click Tape Measure. The Tape Measure appears.
- Optional: Use your mouse wheel to zoom in on the place you want to measure. This makes it easier to fine-tune the size of the Tape Measure.
- Simply drag the middle of the Tape Measure to move it and use the arrows to size it.
- Once you are done measuring, you can move the Tape Measure to the side for when you next need it or click the yellow Menu and then click Tape Measure to close it.
Tip: If you are measuring items in a mode other than Furniture mode, you may want to open the yellow Menu and click Always Furniture to see your furniture in all modes.

- Place it on your floor plan, then drag the center to move it, use the curved arrow to rotate it, and use the diagonal arrows to size it.
- On the right, in Properties, note its length.
- Click the + tab and locate the Text Box tool.
- Add it to your project and move it next to the Measure Line.
- In the Label box on the right, type the length you noted earlier, and adjust the Font if needed.
- Fine-tune the placement of the text box if needed.
