App says I'm offline, but I'm online

Are you experiencing difficulties saving your changes, or are you getting messages that claim you are offline even though you are connected to the internet?

This indicates that the RoomSketcher App is having issues accessing the internet due to settings on your device. You will notice that the cloud icon in the bottom left corner of the app is disconnected Cloud Disconnected.jpg instead of connected Cloud Connected.jpg

In order to resolve this, you should try the steps in the order below.

  1. Disable VPN
  2. Review Antivirus Permissions
  3. Windows 10 or 11 Firewall OR Mac Firewall
  4. Still Experiencing Difficulties?

Disable VPN

If you are connected to another network using a VPN connection, you may begin by disabling your VPN while using the RoomSketcher App. The reason for this, is that VPN can disrupt internet access because it reroutes your connection through a different server, which might block or slow down certain apps or websites.

Review Antivirus Permissions

If you have an antivirus program installed on your device, it may be blocking the RoomSketcher App from accessing the internet. Please check the antivirus program’s settings and review its permissions

Windows 10 or 11 Firewall

On Windows 10 and 11, the firewall will sometimes block trusted apps from accessing the internet.

  1. Open Windows Security.

  6. Confirm with OK
  7. Open the RoomSketcher App and start drawing.

  1. Choose the Apple menuAppleSymbol.jpg and then System Settings.
  2. Click Network AppleNetworkSymbol.jpg in the sidebar and then Firewall.
  3. Click Options. If the Options button is disabled, first turn on Firewall.
  4. Click + under the list of applications and services.
  5. Select RoomSketcher App.
  6. Click the Up or Down buttons to move the app to allow connections through the firewall.
  7. Open the RoomSketcher App and start drawing.
