Why Is My Item Missing in 3D Floor Plans?

Option 1 - The Item Is Above the Wall Cut Height

For 3D Floor Plans, the most common reason an item doesn’t show is its placement in relation to the wall cut height. Objects placed above this cut height won’t appear in 3D Floor Plans.

Here's what to check:

  • RoomSketcher's standard wall cut height is 75 inches (1900 mm).
  • You can check the item's height by selecting it and then checking the Height Above Floor in the Properties on the right side.
    • Remember that Height Above Floor can also be affected if you have changed the floor height (you have, for example, raised the floor).
  • If you want this item to appear in your 3D Floor Plan, you have two options:
    1. You can lower the Height Above Floor to below 75 inches (1900 mm).

    2. Or, if you are a Pro or Team subscriber, you can change the standard wall cut height. Learn how to set your wall cut height in this article: 3D Floor Plans - Customize Your Floor Plans, or contact us and we'll do it for you.

Option 2 - The Item Is Not a Fixed Ceiling Item

If an item is a fixed ceiling item, it will always show in the 3D Floor Plan — even when placed above the wall cut height. Typical fixed items include Ceiling Lamps, Pendant Lights, Chandeliers, Ceiling Fans, and Skylights

Here's how you can determine if an item is a fixed ceiling item and how to change it if it isn't. Follow these steps:

  1. Select the item.
  2. On the right side, open Advanced Properties.
  3. Toggle Fixed on or off.
